Stop by the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center at the dam . Kayak or float down the river. 

Head towards Arthur and Arcola to visit Amish shops (http://www.amishcountryofillinois.com/) or to visit the Aikman Wildlife Adventure park and animal sanctuary (https://www.aikmanwildlife.com/).

Visit Sullivan for quaint shops and the Little Theater on the Square (http://www.thelittletheatre.org/).  Attend the 4th of July parade and carnival. 

Findlay offers the Findlay Diner, Tailwinds Steakhouse, and the Niemerg Family Winery.  Visit the annual Walleye Festival the last weekend of July.
